NEW CALENDAR OF EVENTS
At Team 2Tues6 we discussed the events for October through December. Check the website calendar for more info on the upcoming events!!
Weekly Devotional – Tuesday September 18
There is a weekly devotional at the cornerstone worship center at 7pm.
Kings Dominion – Saturday September 22
Ready for a fun filled Saturday? We’re heading to the King’s Dominion theme park near Richmond VA. Mairim is organizing this event with tickets through her work. The park is shut down and open only to the employees, friends, and families. Tickets are $20 but you’ll have to contact Mairim to see if you can still get tickets, cause its late and they may have sold out.
There is a lunch food ticket which can be purchased up until the 19th. For $13.50 it is all you can eat charbroiled chicken in barbecue sauce, charbroiled hamburgers & hot dogs and their “fixin’s,” potato salad, baked beans, soda, brownies and will be served in the Pavilion Area from Noon until 2 p.m.
KD is about a 2hr drive from Columbia MD if traffic is low. The plan is to carpool together in the morning. If you wish to drive yourself thats ok too. For those carpooling we’ll be meeting at the church at 8am. The park is open from 10am to 8pm. As of now, we have a total of 25 people going (huge group, woohoo!) The Pulse youth group will be joining us for this event, somewhere around 6 teens or so. I know that Michael, Jonathan, and Me are driving and we can each carry 5. However I think Jonathan will be leaving the park at 6pm to return to Columbia. Its 140 miles down there, so total around 280 miles. Estimate 25miles per gallon and thats somewhere around 30$ for gas, if you’re a passenger I suggest bringing a few bucks to help share the burden.
I recommend bringing:
Comfortable walking shoes.
Lunch money, lunch ticket, or a packed lunch.
Sunglasses and/or hat
Cell phone
if you don’t have a cell phone bring a Watch, or someother time keeper like a sundial or portable alarm clock. ^_^
People who have paid – Don’t Forget about it
Doug and Lisa, Mike and Renee, Karen and husband and 2 friends, Tanja, Michael, Alistair, Mairim, Jonathan and Amanda, 6 teens, Ben, Alison, Sara, and Jerimi
Cheryl can’t join us for KD even though she paid for a ticket. Her ticket is available but Annelise has voiced interest in going. If Annelise can’t go then we’ll have a spot open for someone else if you know anybody who might be interested.
Special Weekly Devotional featuring Dave Maxham – Tuesday September 25
Ever wondered if once you’ve been saved are you always saved? Do pets go to heaven? Or thought about when terrible things happen is it God punishing us? Well, in this special edition of our weekly devotional Dave Maxham has offered to discuss with us some of the tough questions we face in our world today. This event will start at 7pm like normal devotionals.
Head to the website forums and post your tough questions. We’re going to try to pick some of the important ones to answer on the 25th, so we may not be able to answer all the questions people have. Perhaps we’ll have another Dave Maxham visit at a later time. Please post your questions early that way it gives Dave some time to prepare the lesson.
Prayer Requests
Here are some of the things that are on the hearts and minds of the iFit members. Please keep one another in your thoughts and prayers.
- Continued prayer for Cheryl’s Family. Her Grandmother passed away yesterday.
- LeAnn’s two co-workers who were diagnosed with cancer
- Ben’s sister Pat who had brain surgery to remove brain cancer
- Kids and Youth groups at Cornerstone
- Cornerstone fellowship, bring families closer together
- Jonathan’s home church in Lousiana – many tragic events as they’re trying to build larger facilities.
