Guidelines
iFit General Guidelines
- iFit is for the young adult age group, meaning 18-35ish.
- Respect one another. Treat everyone like you wish to be treated. This includes disagreements and uncomfortable situations.
- There is absolutely no alcohol consumption at iFit or any other church function.
- Vulgar language or inappropriate comments will not be tolerated. We encourage everyone to hold each other accountable and to help one another. If the situation does not improve, point it out to the iFit leadership.
- Feel free to invite friends, family, or anyone else to iFit. However, when approaching people, do this in a way so they don’t feel pressured.
- Please leave the facility cleaner than you found it. Pick up trash, Turn off lights, Turn off AC, and Lock doors when you leave.
- iFit members can propose activities for the group, but as a rule of thumb Team 2Tues6 will be used for formal calendar planning. Overnight trips should be no more than a weekend. Events should not split iFit into groups, such as singles only vs. married couples.
- For overnight trips, single males and single females will be staying in separate quarters. (like separate tents, separate rooms, etc)
- Do not distribute member contact information to anyone without that member’s permission.
- The iFit leaders (Doug, Michael, and Mairim) will be responsible for sending out emails to the whole group. Don’t email the whole iFit group on your own. If you have a prayer request or other announcement let one of us know and we’ll send it out.
.
iFit Leader Guidelines
- Maintain respect within the group.
- iFit leaders will not disclose member contact or personal information.
- Keep track of people that come regularly or not, so they feel that they belong. Visitors to the church who are in the iFit age group and complete the “Communication Lines” in the church bulletin will be contacted by the iFit leaders a few weeks later to see if they’re interested in getting more info.
- Reach out to new members in the group, try to make them feel comfortable and help them build connections with others in the group/church.
- Send out newsletter. Use BCC
- Prepare devotionals and identify potential individuals that may be able and show disposition to prepare some devotionals.
- For the devotionals, keep discussions friendly, interactive, and on topic.
- Be alert for uncomfortable, suspicious, or even dangerous situations. Consult immediately with higher Church leaders.
- Make sure the calendar activities are selected as a group.
- For those who sin or break rules, use the Matthew 18 approach.
